MyGear Vault

MyGear Vault is an app for photographers and videographers to catalogue, organise, and insure their kit. We designed and built it with Jared Polin of FroKnowsPhoto — 1.5M+ YouTube subscribers and 300M+ views — as co-founders on the product.

The challenge. Every working photographer carries thousands of pounds of gear and almost none of them have a clean record of what they own, what it’s worth, or proof they owned it when something gets stolen. Existing tools were spreadsheets and insurance portals nobody enjoys touching. The product had to be fast enough that people would actually keep it up to date — a zero-learning-curve vault, not another admin chore.

What we shipped. Native iOS and Android apps. A searchable gear database so adding a camera body or lens is a few taps, not a form. Kit and category views with a live total vault value. CSV export and an insurance-quote flow that turns the inventory into something useful at exactly the moment it matters.

The outcome. A vault photographers keep current because it respects their time — proof of ownership, real-time value, and a path to insurance, all from the gear they were going to log anyway.
